Privacy Policy

What we collect
When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address — nothing else. When you sign in to Classly with Google, we request read-only access to your Google Classroom account so we can see which courses you're enrolled in, who your teacher is, and which classmates are in each class. We do not read your assignments, grades, submissions, or any private communications in Google Classroom.
Once you're in the app, messages you send in class group chats are stored in our database so your classmates can read them.
How we use your data
Your email is used only to send you a confirmation that you joined the waitlist and a single announcement when Classly launches. We will never send marketing emails, sell your address, or share it with third parties.
Your Google Classroom roster is used exclusively to create and populate the group chats for your classes. Classly never posts anything to Google Classroom on your behalf, never modifies your assignments or grades, and never accesses any data beyond what is necessary to show you your class list and classmates.
Data storage & security
Waitlist emails and app data are stored in Supabase, which is hosted on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We follow industry-standard practices for access control and credential management. We do not store your Google OAuth token beyond the active session.
Data retention & deletion
You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us at the address below. We will remove your account, messages, and any associated data within 30 days. Waitlist emails are deleted once Classly launches and users have been notified.
Children's privacy
Classly is designed for high school and college students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Classly evolves. If we make material changes we will notify waitlist members by email and display a notice in the app. Continued use of Classly after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
